-Checkers move diagonally forward; kings move diagonally in any direction. Taking is mandatory, and pieces are removed after the turn. If more captures are possible, they must continue until no further captures can be made. Kings land on any free square after capturing. Checkers reaching the last row become kings and may continue capturing. The Turkish strike rule stops a capture if a beaten piece blocks the path. Players choose which capture option to use when multiple are available.
